December 2025 Roundup

Hello and Happy December!

Starting a new tradition early, in the form of posting a periodic round-up of my latest releases, appearances and other news that you might have missed. This will hopefully happen every quarter – so if you’re new here, welcome to the first round-up and stay tuned for more!

If you want more regular updates, and my ongoing musings on what it means to be a writer, an educator, a snake parent, and a human, please subscribe to my newsletter. I typically only send one a month, with my latest news and a little about what’s on my mind at the time.

The Now Page

A little while ago, I added a “Now” page under the “About Brandon” section. If you’re unfamiliar with this concept, it’s akin to what you’d update a friend on after not seeing them for a couple months – what you’re up to and what’s important in your life now. I’ll be updating that periodically as my alternative to social media. (If you want other examples, go visit my friends Kate Heartfield, Faye Gabriel or dave ring.)

Castoff is Out!

The Aspects of Aelda duology is complete with the release of my second novel, Castoff, back in October. Castoff sees scholar-turned-magician-turned-scholar Mavrin Leed, heretic-on-the-run Eyasu Temergon, and formerly retired Watch commander Deyeri Renn face the very real challenge of fulfilling a promise to the gods that’s easier said than done. A desperate hunt for clues leads to a National Treasure-esque journey across Aelda, all while the theocratic Highest Voices try to stop them from revealing even more about their world’s lost history.

Available wherever you like to buy your books, including Bakka Phoenix in Toronto!

Latest Podcast Tour

With a new book coming out, I did a little podcast circuit to discuss things like being too busy and how high school Brandon became 2500-year-old Time Lord Brandon. Each of these was an absolute blast, and I hope you check them out.

Stay tuned for more of me on podcasts in the new year!

On the Gaming Side…

Games publishing is sometimes slow, and for U.S. publishers in particular, the economic uncertainty the past few months has meant delays and figuring out new plans for releasing products (including ones I’ve worked on). But I’m expecting 2026 to be a big year of projects coming out that I had a hand in, like The Expanse RPG: Transport Union Edition and A Bestiary of New Englands Creatures, Creepers, and Cryptids.

One thing I did excitedly release a little while ago was Serpentine Scenarios, my first supplement for B.O.A. Inside you’ll find five original adventures to take your secret agency of snakes through, from recovering a stolen donut recipe to rescuing an Interpol witness from a transatlantic flight.
